(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) Just as confirmed cases of Covid-19 begin to rise again in Arizona and around the county, and more seniors are being asked to socially isolate, Arizona start-up televëda is proud to now be offering for the first-time ever, direct consumer access to its online community so that seniors can find friendships, stay active and connected.

Older adults 65 and up from across the US can now directly join televëda’s online community of active seniors and enjoy over 50+ classes a month via a membership subscription. Programs are

geared towards fostering friendships, a sense of community and social connections. Online experiences include live and interactive Bingo, group tai chi, chair yoga, tap dancing lessons, nutrition education, art and watercolor workshops, sculpting, live music performances, book clubs and other social experiences, all led by world class experts from around the world.

After starting as a social venture last year, televëda, which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona has been primarily focused on serving senior living organizations but now these organizations, who serve the vulnerable are severely overwhelmed.

“No one should be alone over the holidays or really anytime for that matter,” says Shruti Gurudanti, CEO and Co-Founder of televëda, “Increasing personal interactions, participating in group activities, and taking classes, are ways to reduce feelings of loneliness. Unfortunately, pandemic or not, there are real physical, cognitive and socio economic challenges that preclude older adults from enjoying these basic things that you and I take for granted. Whether it’s a grandparent, parent, friend or anyone, we are here to help them find a friendly and supportive community so they can always live the best versions of their lives, and all from the safety of their own home.”

The subscription program, which launched in December, welcomes seniors into a community of like minded adults that supports ones social, mental, and physical well-being every day. Members rave that it is the “friendliest community” of active adults, and that it has given them a sense of “meaning and purpose”. Membership has rapidly grown by word-of-mouth.

Those interested in signing up a loved one can visit www.televeda.com and sign up for a two-week free trial until January 2021. Members joining and participating before January 2021 are also being offered a gift card to ring in the holiday spirit.

The age-tech company has already won many awards and grants as a start-up and televëda has partnered with ASU, the Chandler Symphony Orchestra, as well as numerous municipalities, senior centers and senior housing facilities

including the Chandler Parks and Recreation Department, City of Maricopa, The Beatitudes Campus, Foundation for Senior Living, Heineberg Community Senior Center (VT), Duet AZ and many more.

televëda is also providing free community resources during COVID-19. Visit www.televeda.com for more information or call 833-299-1449 (Toll Free).

About televëda

televëda is a social venture with a mission to combat social isolation for older adults and adults with special needs. We are a virtual community management platform that empowers local civic communities (like senior centers, municipalities and assisted living facilities) with the infrastructure and media needed to manage and scale engaging virtual community centers.

Delivering virtual activities to older adults is a fragmented offering that involves a lot of complex steps. Organizations and caregivers rely on televëda to save time and offer peace of mind, instead of piecemealing various software and media solutions. Due to the outbreak, the organizations who serve the vulnerable are severely overwhelmed. A recent time audit at municipality recreational centers revealed that even with using Zoom and their own instructors it was still costing organizations around 25-40 hours of additional staff time weekly and $5000 in additional monthly spend. televëda is the only end-to-end turnkey platform for civic organizations that includes video streaming, calendaring and registration system, plug-and-play media library, live tech support, automated reminder system, custom data reporting, analytics and security and privacy moderation. televëda has helped front line workers save 6-15 hours every week while increasing overall attendance and engagement of their online classes.
