Rose Law Group celebrates 3rd Annual ‘Thanksgiving In July’ extravaganza

By Madelaine Braggs | Rose Law Group Reporter

What started as a humble brag, has grown into a beloved Rose Law Group holiday tradition. In the peak of summer, autumn comes early, as the team gathers around the pot luck table showing gratitude for each other and the opportunity to serve our clients.

It all started in 2021, when Litigation Dept. Co-Chair Andy Turk declared that he makes the best turkey known to man… a turkey that turns any hater into a believer. We dared him to prove he could serve a bird that wasn’t dry as crisp falling leaves. Afterall, we couldn’t let him make such a statement without hosting a true feast, putting the baster to the test.

All through the staff, doubting faces had to admit… his Dr. Pepper turkey was quite juicy, his apple rub bird was truly delicious. Thus the tradition was born and every year we turn the conference table into the dining room, decorated with an array of sides. Immigration Dept. Chair takes his regular post as the honorable turkey carver, slicing the team’s servings with pride.

This year we had buffalo chicken dip, fancy stuffed olives, could never forget the cheese charcuterie board, green beans, Ngoc’s famous mashed potatoes and dairy-free gravy, two types of guacamole, beef empanadas, a stack of smoked barbeque pork ribs, homemade pumpkin pies baked with love, we had apple pie and peach pie and a fruit tart, paired with brownie cupcakes and hearty cups.

John Sud, litigator by day, mixologist by night, was behind the bar with three different themed beverages.

There was laughter, full bellies and a bonded team. While it’s still over 110 degrees outside, it’s never too early to be in the spirit of thanks.

To make it extra special this year, we added the “giving” by partnering up with AZCEND, a food pantry and resources center in Chandler, to donate a supply of non-perishable foods.
