Pinal Partnership President and CEO Tony Smith to retire; an ‘instrumental’ leader, says Rose Law Group Founder and President Jordan Rose

Pinal County, AZ October 1, 2024 Pinal Partnership, the leading economic development organization in Pinal County, proudly announces the retirement of Tony Smith, who has served as President/CEO with unwavering dedication.

Effective January 1, 2025, former Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland will succeed Smith as the next President/CEO of Pinal Partnership. Tony Smith has been a cornerstone of Pinal Partnership’s success, guiding the organization through a period of significant growth and transformation. Under his leadership, Pinal Partnership has made remarkable strides in fostering economic development, advancing community initiatives, and enhancing the quality of life in Pinal County.

Craig’s extensive experience and deep understanding of Pinal County and its communities will be invaluable as we continue to drive progress and prosperity in Pinal County.”

Craig McFarland, who served as the Mayor of Casa Grande from December 2016 – December 2024, brings a wealth of experience in public service and economic development. His tenure as Mayor was marked by significant achievements, including the initiative to widen I-10, raising Casa Grande assessed property values by 56%, raising household income levels from $51k to $89k, population growth of over 24%, and industry & business job growth of over 8,300 jobs. McFarland’s vision aligns with Pinal Partnership’s mission to promote economic growth and enhance our communities.
