With little fanfare and even fewer details, the Goodyear City Council approved a rezoning request on land owned by Microsoft Corp. this week to allow for light industrial uses, 60-foot metal buildings and chain link fences on the property.

Throughout the council’s meeting, the computer industry giant was never mentioned by name and the project was only referred to as “PHX 10-11.”

Jordan Rose, the attorney representing Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) in the rezoning case said during the Dec. 17 meeting that the company was “excited to come to Goodyear” without revealing any details of its plans for the site. No renderings or other details have been made publicly available.
