Ducey anxious for reform and recovery

On April 22, 2015, Governor Doug Ducey moved smoothly through the third floor offices of Rose Law Group in Scottsdale, Arizona, shaking hands, listening attentively, and smiling assuredly. He had been invited by Jordan Rose to share his thoughts about his first 100 days in office with an invited group of government, business and community leaders.

Ducey appeared to be a man in a hurry to be different. He was the first one in his family to graduate from college. The budget he spoke about in his inauguration was passed in seven weeks, the quickest in Arizona history. He told a story about going “undercover boss” at the department of motor vehicles, and being happy that he was in and out in 14 minutes. He also joked about a fellow patron, who recognized him as someone from television, offering condolences on his loss of the election.
