Crisis after crises, but Arizona is rapidly evolving to meet the moment. Now, in response to the economic consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak, Arizona created a financial program designed to support employers and help rebuild and energize the State’s economy. The Rapid Employment Job Training Grant will provide support by reimbursing employers for costs associated with training substantial numbers of new employees quickly.
The reimbursement through this grant applies to public or private organizations, entities or sole proprietorships who have hired new employees between March 1 and September 1, 2020 and provided either online or in-person training. However, churches, schools, and public service corporations are not eligible.
The grant covers approved training costs for employees, including instruction costs, travel costs, training materials, equipment and machinery, venue, and wages – for dedicated time by the trainee in a training environment.
Completing the application for the Rapid Employment Job Training Grant is quick and easy – simply provide a brief explanation of the company’s training to be provided, identification of a training provider, if applicable, and the calculation of a training budget.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until September 1, 2020 and applicants will be notified by email if they are awarded a grant. Reimbursement requests may occur at most once a month for training expenses from March 1, 2020 to September 1, 2020. The total grant award amounts are capped at $1.3 million and estimated training cost of $5,000 maximum per employee.
