Many weapons that people think are illegal, including suppressors, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, and certain machine guns are actually legal to own in Arizona. These weapons are governed by the National Firearms Act (“NFA”). The NFA places some significant restrictions on acquiring these weapons. But with careful planning and advice, almost any law abiding citizen can own NFA items. For many people, it makes sense to acquire NFA items by using a trust specifically drafted for that purpose.
