More than 200 people with “Rooftop solar is right” signs and “Don’t tax the sun” shirts rallied Wednesday morning at the Arizona Capitol against a solar property tax the Arizona Department of Revenue will assess next year on leased and financed systems.
The rallying group, which included solar installers from SunRun Inc., SolarCity Corp. and Vivint Solar, seniors and members of TUSK, Tell Utilities Solar Won’t Be Killed, called for Gov. Jan Brewer to stop the tax, saying it would hurt the industry.
